5 common challenges....

One significant development for organizations was the necessity to transition to a work-from-home model in order to keep things operating smoothly. When nations throughout the world began imposing lockdown limitations, businesses had little alternative but to convert to remote operations if their area of business permitted it. What was formerly considered a benefit for workers (the ability to work from home) is now required for the business's existence. Even organizations that permitted workers to work from home before to the pandemic found it difficult to transition their whole setup to the work-from-home model.

Access to critical data and applications

This posed a significant difficulty for firms who did not keep their critical data and apps in the cloud. How can you guarantee that all of your workers have access to all of the company data, programs, and applications they require to function effectively? Companies who had previously chosen thecloud as their primary data storage method were not confronted with this difficulty because everything was available from anywhere, using any internet-enabled device (laptops/PCs/tablets/smartphones, etc.).

Cybersecurity concerns

Businesses' concerns about cybersecurity breaches have grown as a    result of workers working from home. Cybercriminals, on the other hand,  were fully aware of all the security flaws that existed in a  rushed remote working environment setup and took full advantage of them. According to industry assessments, the first few months of the pandemic was an uptick  in cybercrime and associated attacks on enterprises.

Data Loss

Data loss was another issue to consider for firms that did not use the cloud. How can you assure data backup and recovery when your employees use personal devices for work? Also, how can you verify they are taking all essential procedures to safeguard the data on their devices?

Some companies let their workers use their work computers at home. For instance, several businesses permitted their staff to use the office computers at home while still on the clock. This did not, however, completely resolve the backup and recovery or cybersecurity issues because management was still unable to exercise control over the devices.

Phones

Many firms found it difficult to manage their phone numbers when staff worked from home, especially for those who dealt with customers. Businesses utilizing VoIP phone systems were able to make this move with ease, however, those still using traditional phone systems (PBX) were forced to use cell phones and temporarily lost access to their business numbers.
